Growth Performed in LA with Rhiannon Aarons. Rhiannon staples 166 white rose petals to my body and then, when there are no more roses she removes the staples one by one and as I bleed she feeds me the rose petals as they overflow out of my mouth. Blood Skirt performed at Tempting Failure Biennale of Performance Art (7hrs) As I walk my skirt bleed and draws my path behind me, I walk the edges of the gallery space continually.

Performing Fairytale at the Karachi Biennial. I stand and bleed from a catheterised vein onto a bouquet of white roses, turning them red. Over the following days the roses turn red entirely. Photo by Humayun M.

Bloom (30 mins) Performed at Cultivate Debased at BSMT Space. I lay down roses around myself and pick the petals from white roses and pin them to my face with needles. I then remove the needles slowly and the petals cascade to the ground. Photo – James Copeman.

Tender Blood- performance with Sheree Rose. Sheree and I approach each other slowly across the ring. Our bodies meet peacefully, then push and struggle. We come to sit facing one another- holding hands. We cut one another foreheads with a scalpel. I apply Sheree’s blood to her lips and she kisses the blood onto my face- I do the same to her. She cuts our design into my arm and I do the same to her. We rub our wounds together and embrace. Resistance. [15mins] A rope is tied around my waist and to a pillar, I lean away from the pillar, my whole weight on the rope as long as physically possible.

Unpainted

Corpus Sonos with Justin Snyder- 2013

With my breath the plastic sheet over me rises and falls, Justin Snyder mirrors my breath with one key of his piano and slowly begins the piece. I am attached to the piano with meat hooks through my skin and rope which leads to the piano. As Justin plays I respond to him physically, moving against my bonds. The plastic sheet is slowly pulled off my body and Justin's playing builds to a crescendo, rising and falling as I trash my body against my ties and into the floor. Hogstess- Central Saint Martins March 2013. I walk to my chosen location, clasp my hands in front of me and gaze straight ahead, I stand motionless for as long as possible then walk away. [1hr 30mins]

His Kisses performed at Untouchable curated by Franko B at The Mori and Stein gallery. I lay motionless upon a low bed, covered in recreated marks left upon my body from my Dominant from SM interactions. An audio recording plays [Transcript excerpt below [Duration 8 mins]] and then I remain still within my pose for as long as possible and then leave. [total duration 1hr30]
'I am His caged bird, bedecked in shackles, bruises and welts. I am hollow and weak, it is through Him that I am reborn.
There are no mirrors, this place permits no vanity, it is through His administrations that I am allowed to exist, to see myself, changing. I am stripped and every pore searched, wrenched from me my dignity is weighed, noted and filed away far from me. He was there, blue eyes watching intently, my pale, then plum skin cold with sweat. My Overseer, He saw me properly processed, my long locks shorn, every hair stolen from me, raw as butchers meat I entered the slab and shrank from the bars. Small now, clasped in His gloved hand, curled at His feet, two wet pools of awe and fear, open, I shake. Each whimper is a song and each scream my aria. My tattered skin is stained with his desire, aflame with his wants.
At first, screaming, throat numb and eyed ope'd, then barred shut I walled myself away in my flesh, a trembling doe. Now I kneel patiently, at prayer until He receives me. His boots announce Him, polished by My tongue and tears. He gazes at my lowered head and white nape. Held and positioned I am all glory, lips parted- open...'
